Music redeeming psychic and corporal healt. Studying emotion using musical recourses,

thankfulnees to improving psychological effects, as anger, happiness, sadness and

tranquility; has been getting, again and again, neurobiologists attention, that are beginning

stuying power and functions of music. Sound of musical instrument, as flute, redeem all

involvement that only music, with harmony, melody and rhythm can do, by its crystalline

expression. This glorious feeling, this plesaing deliht, makes heart beat faster and a light fit

of cold go through spine, arring in some cases, to the face, in a orgastic, pleasing and

involving rhythm, leaving all the body in syntonization with this new order performed by

brain.

Why melody dives us in happines, massaging our ego and body, in the beginning with a

strong and, after, with a calming rhythm, making us understand the real emotion message,

at the beginning enexplicable, leaving us in ecstasy?

At this momment, we feel the pure gestation of emotion, in its plenitude, overflowing as in

personal and vivid experience, as in universal and redeemer pleasing. When, during some

moments, we are involved in a promising environment and mental images, in a frenetic

psychic travel. It makes us feel emorationaly sensations, a concept created by me to

explain our emorinal and rational natures at the same time, evolking nice and restorative

remembrances and producing physical manifestations along all the body, as ruffles,

vibrations and accelerate cardiac beating. Ears became thinking, actives, lerting the body

to answer to these feelings.

Emorationality is an reciprocal relationship between body and soul, dialoging with the

external social and cultural environment, and with his bodily space. Music vibration is

experienced in and out the body, arriving at the environment.Everything vibraters when

this sound is perceived, producting a perfect non-verbal communication, using an

emotional language understood by the two components (body and soul) and, in this care,

between the spectator and the flutter. Pleasing and delght produced by music. Are

undeniable, regulating affective and conciliating conduct.

Emotion withdrew from music is a new and recent search and struggles with several

knowledge fields. In my opinion, it request the music-education-health connection. Its

empirical character isn' t inferior to other sciences and finds with my credibility and beliefs

as a investigator and music, education and cerebral sciences lover. As says Howard

Gardner, professor in Harvard and creator of Muliple Intelligence Theory it's a intelligence,

and its power of affective evocation in a exremely involving and fascinating atmosphere, is

a pleasing invitation that brings benefits for our nature and body. Its power is so strong that

can chage water molecules rhythm, depending on its frequency and duration, for instance,

being able to purify water, as has been displayed in recent German studies. Water couse,

from fountains to great rivers, going through sinuous ways, and the river tranquility,

associated to a melodious, harmonious and cadenced music, similar to this environment,

allows a perfect natural harmony, actively perceived in its calm and inebriant caused for

vibrations, inclusively by us, sensible and vibrating being. Music bring fundamental

benefits to all the nature: to a plant, that flourishes more vigorously, to a cow, that

produces more milk and to the human being, that became more sensitive to this

environment of sound and light. Use of suitable music allows increasing, stimulating

biological inborn or sensitive cultural abilities, and the same happens with self-knowledge

and control pf emotions and sensations associated to other intelligencesalready

manifested or experienced, or even non-manifested yet. Brain and mind redeem psychical

health, the necessary emotional balance that allows us to study cognition and rational

aspect of human behaviour. We are emorational by nature, which makes us, mysteriously,

able of explore secrets of reason, without exclude feelings (living and co-existing in an

inclusivist word, which only nature can produce), as contentment, happiness without

exacerbation, but balanced and serene, making thought flow better and producing

dialogue, creating delight and energy, allowing us execute our tasks, having physical and

psychical health as allied.

All his has influenced me to study and to articulate concepts of musical intelligence,

emotion, cognition and physical and psychical health. I can't dissociate all this. We are,

now, saw in integrity and integrated with surrounding environment, a integrity caused by

this emotion, not in fragments, but in a wider context, in syntony with biological, genetic

and hereditary constructors, and with social, environmental, cultural and external

constructors, too.

Studies about emotion are made now with more accuracy. Formerly, cognition displayed

conscious processes of high level, whereas emoion involves incontrollable mechanisms,

ruled by central system.

Now a days, thanks to neuribiologists work, as Antonio Damásio, we know that body and

brain are intimately united and emotion performs determinant paper in emorational

behaviour involved in stimulant decisions and challenges, contributing to individual

psychical and corporal health in the world

My name is Carlos Eduardo da Cruz Gomes. I have a Projeto intitulado Musical Intelligence: Construction and development of musical intelligence (MI) and Disclosing of Multiple Intelligences through Emotion and Music: Anamnesys sonorous-musical and Emotion (EMO) and Catholical Liturgical songs in primitive Tradition Till Contemporaneity. Orientations and profound and critical studies of relation music-education-health developed in all fundamental disciplines for creativity and musical plesuare, amplifying horizons of students, teachers and overseers, warranting a more creative and permanent learning, under light of Multiple Intelligences Theory, by Howard Gardner. Respecting results of a diagnosis, will be done an sonorous-musical anamnesis of some components of Singer Boys of Sankt Florian, reports of persons who made the relation music-education-health and during their construction and development, disclosed intelligences from music, justifying Gardner's theory, from this magic element that enchants, that is, emotion, filling us with energy and cure:musical intelligence, that possess biological, genetic, hereditary, natural, social and cultural, neuro-biological, psychic and behaviorist elements. This word display, too, a small historic about S"angerknaben and a study about catholic liturgical songs (Christian songs and Psalms), found frequently in choruses repertory.

Inteligência Musical - Professor propõe nova metodologia de trabalho

O Centro Cultural Bernardo Mascarenhas promove na sexta-feira, dia 6, a partir das 14h, palestra sobre “Inteligência Musical”, ministrada pelo professor Carlos Eduardo da Cruz Gomes. O evento acontece na Videoteca Mascarenhas, com entrada franca e é destinado a qualquer pessoa interessada, com faixa etária superior a 14 anos de idade. A realização tem o apoio da administração Alberto Bejani, através da Funalfa, e atende a orientação de contemplar as diversas propostas e manifestações culturais.

O professor Carlos Eduardo, formado em Letras, especialista em literatura comparada e psicopedagogia, aluno de canto do Pró-Música e ex-integrante de diversos corais da cidade é o autor do Projeto Inteligência Musical, pesquisa que vem desenvolvendo desde o ano de 2004. Ele informa que esta metodologia é baseada na teoria das múltiplas inteligências, do professor e psicólogo Howard Gardner, da Universidade de Harvard. Segundo Gomes, este método de trabalho é muito recente e propõe a interação da música, da educação e da saúde com o objetivo de criar meios para ajudar às pessoas a descobrirem suas múltiplas inteligências a partir da música. Através da palestra ele pretende divulgar e explicar o seu projeto, convocar participantes – meninos e meninas - para criação de um coral para a Igreja Luterana, formar grupos de estudos sobre esta nova técnica e propor a realização de cursos para capacitar novos profissionais a atuarem com os princípios da Inteligência Musical.

Gomes explica que a construção e o desenvolvimento da Inteligência Musical e a descoberta das múltiplas inteligências ocorre através da emoção e da música. Inicialmente ele realiza uma anamnese sonoro-musical – questionário com 20 perguntas para identificar o sistema sensorial preferencial de cada um – e que permite avaliar o histórico e a emoção de cada pessoa. A sua proposta também inclui a prática de cantos litúrgicos, que conforme suas pesquisas permitem, ao mesmo tempo, o estudo da palavra, o significado curativo da mesma, além de resgatar a mensagem espiritual do canto.

The Musical Intelligence

Introduction: What is intelligence? (Gardner, Howard. Frames of Mind, 1983)
The theory of multiple intelligences developed by Howard Gardner has significantly influenced education in the last few decades. Gardner refers to the intelligences as ways of knowing and understanding yourself and the world around you. In the introductory section of Frames of Mind, his first popular book on the subject, Gardner defines intelligence as "the ability to solve problems, or to create products, that are valued within one or more cultural settings" (1983). He explains that he was seeking to undermine the common notion of intelligences as a general capacity or potential which every human being possessed to a greater or lesser extent. He questioned the assumption that you could measure intelligence with standardized verbal instruments, such as the short answer, paper and pencil IQ test. He asks his readers to "perform two thought experiments."
  • Imagine you have never heard of the concept of intelligence as a single property of the human mind; or that an instrument called the intelligence test exists.
  • "Cast your mind widely about the world and think of all the roles or "end states" - vocational and avocational - that have been prized by cultures during various eras (hunters, fishermen, farmers, shamans, religious leaders, psychiatrists, military leaders, civil leaders, athletes, artists, musician, poets, parents, and scientists)"
In Gardner's early research he discussed seven intelligences. Gardner later introduced an eighth intelligence: the naturalist intelligence.
